Deer Run
593-acre Deer Run is southeast of Rockford, accessible from River Road south
of Cherry Valley. Offers over 9 miles of hiking and equestrian trails. It offers relatively undeveloped natural areas as well as prairie restoration areas.
If you don't mind getting wet, you can traverse an equestrian crossing to access
653-acre Oak Ridge to the south with another five miles of trails. A short
distance on Perryville accesses the Blackhawk Springs forest preserve to the
